Green, sustainable interior design is focus of new 3-course certificate program

With demand growing for sustainable and environmentally healthy living and working spaces, Bellevue College is launching a new certificate program in green and sustainable interior design.

Intended for working interior designers as well as for students in the college’s associate-degree Interior Design program, the three-course sequence will help to prepare participants for the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) professional accreditation examination given by the U.S. Green Building Council.

The program begins in Fall 2009, with the second and third courses offered in successive quarters.

Classes will include a blend of live, in-class sessions and online study. Beginning in Fall 2010, classes will be held in the evening.

Registration for continuing BC interior design students opens May 18, with new or returning students able to sign up June 1.

Bellevue College’s Interior Design program is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation.
