The 7th Annual YWCA Closet Treasures Sale will give women a chance to help other women while indulging in guilt-free shopping.
The two-day fundraising event Oct. 24 and 25 features designer and name-brand clothing at significant discounts, with all proceeds benefitting Dress for Success Seattle. The YWCA program promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a support network and career development tools.
This year’s event takes place at the YWCA at 1118 Fifth Ave. in Seattle. Saturday’s Preview Opening is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes breakfast and refreshments, first access to the sale and a silent action. A donation of $35 will be requested. The public sale, with free admission, is Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“The sale is a fabulous way to spruce up your wardrobe or start tackling your gift list,” says Tricia Tolbert of Bellevue, Operations Chair for the Young Executives for Success, a Dress for Success Volunteer Dresser, and member of the YWCA Closet Treasures Sale Committee. It’s also a great way to directly support the organization.”
Shoppers will be treated to a wide selection of high-quality, new, designer and gently used clothing, shoes and accessories at consignment store prices. The sale features vintage clothing, evening gowns, leather coats and items by top designers, including Jimmy Choo, Chantelle, Chanel, Donna Karan and St. John. Most items are priced at under $50.
This year, shoppers will be able to tour the Dress for Success facility and get a first-hand look at the many ways the program supports women throughout King County.
“The services of Dress for Success Seattle are needed now more than ever,” Tolbert said. “So women have a place of encouragement, to network, and ultimately find their path to success and independence.”
