Full closure of the SR 520 floating bridge coming Thursday night

Late night and early morning SR 520 drivers should plan to take alternate routes across and around Lake Washington on Thursday.

Late night and early morning SR 520 drivers should plan to take alternate routes across and around Lake Washington on Thursday. In addition to on-going overnight closures to install tolling equipment, crews will intermittently close the SR 520 floating bridge to conduct their monthly maintenance work.

Starting at 2:30 a.m., Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) crews will close all lanes on the floating bridge for up to 30 minutes at a time to test the bridge systems and drawspan to make sure they are in working order. The maintenance work is expected to conclude by 5 a.m.

Crews will:

· Close the right lane on westbound SR 520 from the east high rise to the west high rise from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

· Close all lanes of eastbound SR 520 from Montlake Blvd. to 92nd Avenue NE from 11:59 p.m. to 4 a.m.

· Conduct intermittent 30-minute full closures of the SR 520 Evergreen Point Floating Bridge from 2:30 to 5 a.m.
