Forum to provide details on college soroities

Everything you wanted to know about sorority life will be discussed as Overlake Alumnae Panhellenic hosts its annual College Sorority Information Forum at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 4.

The forum will be in Conference Room 1 at the Bellevue Regional Library, 1111 – 110th Ave. N.E. The event is free and open to high school girls of all grade levels and their parents.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet sorority members from the University of Washington who will discuss the membership recruitment process, sorority living, and Greek Weekend at the UW. The program will also cover sorority life at other schools and the lifelong benefits of sorority affiliation. Audience members are encouraged to ask questions.

Applications for Overlake Alumnae Panhellenic scholarships will be available at the forum. Girls considering applying for the scholarship are especially encouraged to attend the event.

Each year OAPH presents scholarships to qualified Eastside high school senior girls who plan to attend four-year colleges or universities with National Panhellenic Conference sororities. Although all scholarship winners are encouraged to consider sorority membership, the scholarships will be granted to those selected, whether or not they ultimately join a sorority.

Scholarship application deadline is April 1, 2009.
