Five Bellevue firefighters become paramedics

Five members of the Bellevue Fire Department have graduated from the UW Paramedic Training program.

 

Five members of the Bellevue Fire Department have graduated from the UW Paramedic Training program.

Tom Dixon, Reese Cogdill, Brian Snyder, Brian Fialdini, Cliff Dobsa each receive more than 2,500 hours of intense training, spending twice as much time in the field and experiencing over 700 patient contacts. The numbers are three times the national average.

The Paramedic Training Program has certified more than 500 paramedics since its inception. The survival rate in Seattle for witnessed, shockable cardiac arrest is the highest in the United States at 50 percent, due in part to the life-saving, intense training program funded by the Medic One Foundation.

In all 18 people completed the course.
