August is a deadly month on Washington’s roadways.

From 2006 – 2010, on average, more impaired driving deaths occurred in August than any other month.

Police says drivers who are impaired have certain tendencies, such as traveling slower than the posted speed limit, having face close to the windshield, having slow responses to traffic signals, sudden stops, tapping of brake lights and traveling side to side in and outside of their lane. Those who see drivers exhibiting any of the signs are encouraged to call 911.
