Erin Fletcher profiled in engineering campaign

Erin Fletcher, project manager of HDR’s Bellevue office, is among 12 female engineers profiled by the Engineer Your Life (EYL) campaign. Backed by more than 50 engineering associations, colleges and universities, the campaign is designed to encourage college-bound girls to integrate engineering into college studies.

Backed by more than 50 engineering associations, colleges and universities, the campaign is designed to encourage college-bound girls to integrate engineering into college studies.

The campaign depicts female engineers in meaningful, rewarding careers. It features a complete spectrum of engineering disciplines. Fletcher represents the civil engineering discipline.

Fletcher is highlighted for her work as design team leader on a $14-million Interstate 5 project for the Washington State Department of Transportation.

As a young girl, Fletcher was drawn to engineering after seeing footage of the 1940 Tacoma Narrows Bridge collapse.

A registered professional engineer, Fletcher holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Stanford University and a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Washington. She is active in student outreach programs.
