Ekaterina Nepomnyashchaya wins award

Ekaterina Nepomnyashchaya of Bellevue High School, has won a Max Block award from the American Jewish Committee.

The Block Awards, as they are commonly called, honors 20 high school students in the Seattle area who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in fostering human relations in their schools and communities. It was created in 1959 by Robert J. Block to honor his father Max Block who was one of the chapter’s founders and its first president.

The award was present May 13 in Seattle.
