Yard sale shut down: Officers contracted a group of people holding a “yard sale” in Ashwood Park. They were warned about selling items without a permit and instructed to shut the sale down.

Aug. 19

Candid camera conflict: Two subjects shoplifted several items from a store in the 3800 block of Factoria Blvd. SE. When confronted by a store employee, the suspects began attacking the employee. A bystander began recording the assault and was also attacked by the suspects. The suspects then traveled to a second store and continued shoplifting before being apprehended by police.

Pole problems: Police were contacted about a subject in a store at Northeast 8th Street and 100th Avenue Northeast who was swinging a metal pole, threatening people and yelling. No one was injured and the subject was detained by police and taken to the hospital.

Aug. 20

Polite prowler: A woman was asleep in her home in the 2800 block of W. Lake Sammamish Parkway. Someone knocked on her bedroom door, then forced it open. The man who forced it open fled when he saw her.

Car wash crash: A man attempted to drive into a car wash in Factoria, but accidentally drove into the building instead.

Aug. 21

Supermarket snatcher: A woman at a supermarket in the 14500 block of NE 20th St. was finishing loading groceries into her car when a man opened one of her car doors and stole her purse, which was sitting on the front passenger seat. He fled in a waiting getaway car.

DUI Drama King: A man who had just been in a collision on the Coal Creek Parkway Interstate 405 off-ramp laid on the ground and yelled that he wished to be arrested. He was arrested for a DUI.
