Dr. Kevin McCarthy named Dean of Bellevue College’s Health Sciences, Education & Wellness Institute

Kevin McCarthy, Ph.D., of Bellevue, has been named Dean of Bellevue College’s Health Sciences, Education and Wellness Institute.

Kevin McCarthy, Ph.D., of Bellevue, has been named Dean of Bellevue College’s Health Sciences, Education and Wellness Institute.

McCarthy brings 25 years’ experience in teaching and academic administration to his new post, having served most recently as associate vice president of instruction at Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton, Ore.

McCarthy holds master’s and doctoral degrees in American history from the University of Mississippi. His research focuses primarily on the intersection of law, race and gender in the 19th century American South.

Bellevue College’s Health Sciences, Education and Wellness Institute offers a bachelor of applied science degree in Radiation and Imaging Sciences, in addition to 11 associate degree programs, 20 certificate programs and other curricula in Alcohol and Drug Counseling, Continuing Nursing Education, Diagnostic Ultrasound, Early Learning and Teacher Education, Fire Science, Health Professions, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Nursing, Parent Education, Physical Education and Health, Radiologic Technology and Radiation Therapy.

More than 4,000 students are currently enrolled in these programs.
