Dogs – and their people – will kick off the Fourth of July in Bellevue as the Acura of Bellevue Four on the 4th Dog Jog & Walk gets under way at 9 a.m. at Ashwood Park (adjacent to the Bellevue Regional Library, 1111 110th Ave. N.E.).

Registration is $30 per person or $60 for families with four to eight people. A portion of the registration fee will benefit the Bellevue-based Seattle Humane Society. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. on July 4 in Ashwood Park.

Post jog-and-walk festivities in Ashwood Park will feature a dog costume contest, a kids bouncy zone, and Seattle Humane’s MaxMobile, a 38-foot bright yellow bus full of adoptable animals. Shawn Stewart of KIRO 97.3 FM’s “It’s Raining Cats and Dogs” will be the master of ceremonies.

Free parking will be available at the Bellevue Regional Library parking garage.
