Dance Plus – an after-school program that highlights world cultures in music and dance – is offering day camps for boys and girls ages 5 to 11 this summer. The day camps will be held at Dance Academy of Bellevue at 626 120th Ave. N.E.

Expanding on the programs that Dance Plus has offered at area schools the past eight years, the day camps feature an exploration of dance, self-expression and cultural enrichment. All sessions are led by Lella Leontis, owner and founder of the Bellevue-based company.

No previous dance experience is necessary; campers will learn simple choreography and improvisation and how to write down the moves they learn (notebook provided). They will also make their own keepsake costumes for the end-of-session recital.

Day camp sessions run Monday through Friday from 9:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. each day. Sessions are scheduled the weeks of July 27 and Aug. 10. Cost is $350 per session.
