Clarke Freeman Alexander of Bellevue passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Overlake Hospital Medical Center in Bellevue. He was 90.

Clarke Freeman Alexander of Bellevue passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Overlake Hospital Medical Center in Bellevue. He was 90.

Mr. Alexander was born February 23, 1920 in Snoqualmie to David and Debra Alexander. He was raised in Snoqualmie where he graduated from Snoqualmie High School in 1940.

On June 29, 1941, Clarke married Florine Pugsley in Carnation. Mr. Alexander later served in Asiatic and Pacific theaters of operation and participated in the liberation of the Philippines.

He earned a Bachelors Degree in teaching at Central Washington University and a Master’s degree in teaching from Seattle Pacific University.

In 1952, he and his family settled in Bellevue and he took a job at Boeing. The family lived in Bellevue for 58 years, raising three children.

Mr. Anderson was a member of Bellevue Congregational Church where he was Scout Master for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Florine of Bellevue; children, Fred (Lisa) Alexander of Granite Falls, Ernie (Frankie) Alexander of Silverdale and Maureen (Mark) Arseneau of Issaquah; grandchildren, Nathan, Morgan, Kalen, Katie, Rachel, Melissa and Frank; and great-granddaughters Medison and Shayla.

A celebration of Mr. Anderson’s life will be held 3 p.m., Friday, July 2, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Renton. A private family graveside was held at Carnation Cemetery in Carnation.
