Candidates sought for Transportation Commission

The Bellevue City Council is seeking candidates for a vacancy on the Bellevue Transportation Commission. The person appointed will serve a four-year term that concludes May 31, 2012.

Members of the boards and commissions must be Bellevue residents. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

The Transportation Commission advises the City Council on issues related to transportation planning. Members are responsible for studies, analyses and reports as required by the city’s Traffic Standards Code or as requested by the City Council. Commissioners review and make recommendations to the council on topics that include the capital investment program, funding, and transportation facilities planning.

The Transportation Commission meets on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. An additional meeting is sometimes held on the fourth Thursday of the month if the commission’s workload warrants.
