Joining the list of candidates running for Bellevue City Council, is Bill Hirt who will contest incumbent Kevin Wallace for position 4.
Hirt ran last fall in the 48th District race, losing to State Rep. Ross Hunter (D-Medina). A retired engineer, Hirt worked for Boeing for 36 years and for the last year has been blogging about his concerns for the East Link alignment.
A staunch opponent of East Link, Hirt announced on his blog that he was at first reluctant, but hoped to use the campaign as another opportunity to challenge Sound Transit.
“On Tuesday I filed for Position [number four] on the Bellevue City Council in a further attempt to warn residents about Sound Transit,” writes Hirt. “…Again, it’s not about winning, it’s my way to make a difference.”
