The Udupi Cafe in Bellevue has been shut down by the health department last week after inspectors found multiple food safety violations.

An inspection on Sept. 7 revealed food being stored at unsafe temperatures, poor hand washing practices and no hand washing facilities, according to the Public Health of Seattle and King County website. A failure to correct repeated violations was also noted at the business, located at 14625 NE 24th St.

The restaurant has at least a dozen unsatisfactory health inspections since 2012, according to public health records. All three inspections this year have been unsatisfactory. The lack of adequate handwashing facilities and proper cold food holding temperatures have been noted in the each.

Calls to the restaurant were unanswered. The cafe reopened on Sept. 9.
