Residential dock drama: A man living in the 6200 block of Hazelwood Lane SE hired a barge with a crane on it to tear down the part of his neighbor’s dock that was built on his side of the property line. His neighbor opposed it. Both parties had court orders justifying their positions, and the man was persuaded to stand down with his crane until he obtained the proper permits.

School speed demons: The Bellevue Police bike team attended Field Day at Spiritridge Elementary and clocked baseball pitches using their radar guns. The top speed was 46 mph.

June 18

Barbecue gone bad: An employee confronted a man attempting to leave a Factoria-area store with more than $300 of meat and charcoal. The suspect threatened employees and continued on his way.

Nude photo blackmail: A 16-year-old sent nude photos of herself to another subject through an internet app. The suspect then told the victim that if she didn’t send more nude photos, he would post the photos online for everyone to see. Detectives are investigating.

Sex offender busted: An anonymous caller had reported the suspect harassed people at a nearby restaurant before wandering away. Officers arrested a man, who turned out to be a convicted sex offender, for failing to register.

Fireworks frenzy: Two juvenile males threw high-powered fireworks in a Factoria-area store, causing damage to the roof tiles and flooring. The store was evacuated briefly. The boys were arrested and charged before being turned over to their parents. The boys got the idea to commit the crime after watching a YouTube video of someone else doing the same thing.
