Bellevue resident turns 102 at Brighton Gardens

Bellevue resident Cliff Lehman celebrated his 102nd birthday at Brighton Gardens of Bellevue on Jan. 23.

Lehman is one of two centenarians residing at the assisted living home. Those who work at the facility describe him as an energetic man.

“We have a hard time keeping up with Cliff,” said Brighton Gardens executive director Regina Barker.

Lehman is also known to have a penchant for computers and jokes.

“Cliff is an example of the importance of having laughter in your life every day,” Barker said. “He also serves as our Chief Joke Engineer.”

Lehman lived in Yakima until the age of 14, when he moved to Seattle and attended Ballard High School.

He spent 33 years of his adult life living on the Snoqualmie River with his late wife, Dorothy, whom he was married to for 50 years.
