The Bellevue Police Department again has achieved international re-accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). Bellevue Police Chief Linda Pillo, accompanied by accreditation managers, Major Mike Johnson, and Captain Pat Spak received the award at the CALEA conference in Bethesda, Md., on March 26.

The department was initially accredited in 2005. Now for the first time, it also was selected as a CALEA Flagship Agency. The Flagship Agency status is awarded to only a small percentage of law enforcement agencies and represents excellence in public safety.

The Flagship Agency designation is effective for the duration of the current 3-year award period.
