Bellevue police arrest suspect in Banner Bank break-in

Bellevue police are pursuing a man who broke into the Banner Bank office early Thursday morning and threatened an employee with a pair of scissors. Police learned at 6:30 a.m. that there had been a break-in at the Banner Bank offices on 112th Avenue Northeast.

Bellevue police arrested the man responsible for the early morning break-in at the Banner Bank offices this afternoon.

Police said they were able to piece together a photo montage of the suspect. A subsequent bulletin led to him being spotted by an officer on 2800 block of Bellevue Way Northeast. Police took him into custody without incident and booked him into King County Jail on first-degree burglary. More charges will likely follow, police said.

Bellevue police are pursuing a man who broke into the Banner Bank office early Thursday morning and threatened an employee with a pair of scissors.

Police learned at 6:30 a.m. that there had been a break-in at the Banner Bank offices on 112th Avenue Northeast.

The suspect reportedly entered the bank through a window he broke and threatened a male employee with a pair of scissors, police said.

Police from both Bellevue and Redmond blocked off 112th Avenue Northeast near State Route 520 in attempt to search for the man. Searchers were able to locate a few belongings the suspect dropped while fleeing the scene.

He is described by police as a white man in his 20s, 5 feet 7 inches tall with a scruffy beard. He was wearing a plaid tan jacket, blue jeans and tennis shoes.

Police are continuing to search for the man, and the closed road was reopened around 8 a.m.
