Bellevue planning, transportation, arts commissions seeking members

With terms for some members of the Bellevue’s Arts, Planning and Transportation commissions ending on May 31, the City Council is seeking candidates to fill the vacancies. Applications are due by May 10. Members serve four-year terms.

With terms for some members of the Bellevue’s Arts, Planning and Transportation commissions ending on May 31, the City Council is seeking candidates to fill the vacancies. Applications are due by May 10. Members serve four-year terms.

The Arts Commission advises and makes recommendations to the council on matters of art, with the goal of enhancing the cultural experience and raising the art consciousness of Bellevue. It meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 4:30 p.m.

The Planning Commission reviews updates to the Comprehensive Plan and makes recommendations to the council. The commission also reviews land use management ordinances and regulations. It meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 6:30 p.m. and other special meetings as scheduled.

The Transportation Commission advises the council on transportation-related issues such as the Transportation Facilities Plan; changes to the Traffic Standards Code; and long- and short-range funding programs. It meets on the second and fourth Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.

All adults who reside within the corporate limits of the city can apply. Residents of newly annexed areas are particularly encouraged.
