Bellevue part of Greenway Days celebration

Bellevue will help celebrate the 6th Annual Greenway Days on June 20 and 21 with a pair of activities.

Greenway Days celebrates the 100-mile Mountains to Sound Greenway.

In Bellevue, the Mercer Slough Fresh Produce & Blueberry Farm will be in operation both days offering fresh local seasonal produce. Participants also can explore the 1 mile Mercer Slough Heritage Trail and visit the Mercer Slough Blueberry Farm and the Historic Winters House from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Winters House will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In addition, the Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center will be open both days offering a chance to explore Mercer Slough, the largest freshwater wetland on Lake Washington and the newly opened Education Center.

Saturday activities include: Environmental education workshops from 10-11 a.m. and 1-2 p.m.; ranger-led walks from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2-3:20 p.m.; and tree house viewing from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

People can bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the outdoor plaza. The Visitor Center will be open to visitors both days from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All ages are welcome.
