Bellevue Police Volunteer Program Coordinator Marji Trachtman has been awarded the professional credential “Certified Volunteer Administrator” (CVA) by the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration.

The CVA certification, currently held by only about 1,000 professionals worldwide, is the only volunteer administration credential that is internationally recognized. It is awarded to practicing professionals who undergo a process that includes extensive self-evaluation, preparation of a performance-based portfolio that is judged by a panel of peers, and a two-hour exam that covers knowledge, application, and analysis of skills related to volunteer mobilization and resource management.

“There is an increasing need for volunteers across all types of organizations, but especially in the public sector as budgets continue to decline,” said Bellevue Police Chief Linda Pillo. “To have a highly skilled volunteer manager like Marji is an asset to any organization.”
