Roger Fisher, co-founder of the band Heart and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, will be performing at the Compassion With Fashion event on Aug. 3 to support 6 year-old Preston Scott and 1-year old baby Nikol Culver who are fighting for their lives with cancer.

Preston has been battling against relapsed medulloblastoma (brain cancer). He was diagnosed in October 2014, had surgery, proton radiation and chemotherapy. He is continuing to receive treatment but none of these are expected to cure his brain cancer, event organizers said.

By the age of 1 month, Nikol was diagnosed with biliary atresia, a rare disease of the liver and bile ducts that occurs in infants. It only can be cured with a liver transplant. During her first year of life, Nikol went through a Kasai surgery, two liver transplant surgeries (her first donor liver failed). In all, Nikol had seven complicated and three less invasive surgeries. Currently, Nikol is on the road of long recovery after all those surgeries.

During the fundraiser, Fisher will perform live on songs from his latest album All Told to the accompaniment of the “All Told” movie. He will introduce his magic Human Tribe Tea and other items.

Bellevue businesses La Belle Rêve and Suléy Group are bringing the community together and organizing this fundraising event to help Preston and Nikol’s families struggling with treatment and care. The time is crucial for them since they are undergoing an intensive treatment and their condition is unpredictable, event organizers said.

The event, which will take place at 6 p.m. on Aug. 3 at the Newcastle Golf Club, will feature an elegant dinner, live auctions and fashion show.
