Police are searching for five suspects who broke into an Eastgate home, shot one person and assaulted another, sending them both to the hospital.

King County Sheriff spokeswoman Sgt. Cindi West said five suspects broke into the home, located on the 4300 block of 150th Avenue Southeast in an unincorporated area of Eastgate, at approximately 6:30 p.m. Friday. There were five people in the home at the time, and a brawl began between the residents and the suspects. West said two shots were fired, and one of the victims was hit. Another was assaulted with a pipe and brass knuckles. Both of the victims were taken to Overlake Hospital Medical Center.

West suggested that the break-in might not be a random occurrence.

“The suspects went directly toward one specific bedroom like they were looking for something specific,” West said.

West said the suspects have not been located, and police have no vehicle information.
