Vogue, Bellevue Collection to give whole new look to Bellevue's fall fashion scene

The images of high fashion and designer labels splashed across the pages of Vogue magazine will come to life on the runway during Fashion Week 2009 at The Bellevue Collection beginning September 29. The legendary fashion and lifestyle magazine has announced a collaboration with The Bellevue Collection for a runway show and exclusive movie premier of “The September Issue.”

Tickets are on sale for Bellevue Fashion Week 2009 which takes place Sept. 29 through Oct. 4.

Catapulting the fashion scene in Bellevue to a whole new level, Vogue magazine will present Front Row Fashion, a runway exhibition designed and executed by Vogue magazine with fashions from The Bellevue Collection. Special guest, Anne Vincent, director of merchandising for Vogue, will share her must-haves for the fall season.

“We (Vogue) are excited to be involved with The Bellevue Collection Fashion Week and we are working to create a fashion destination and memorable retail fashion experience,” Vincent said on a recent trip to Bellevue from New York. “The mall itself is amazing and the mix of retailers here are great because it’s not only the nationwide brands like Anne Taylor, Hugo Boss, Burberry, and Nordstrom, but also local boutiques such as Mercer and Marqsmen. It will be nice to work with that dynamic.”

The fashion show, produced by Vogue, will be held in the new Hyatt Regency Evergreen Ballroom. Only a little over 500 tickets will be available for the Front Row Fashion show on October 3.

“Fashion Front Row will really bring the pages of the magazine to life. It will feature fall trends with a little bit of ’80s glam, biker chic and evening wear.” Vincent said. “It will be a full-scale Vogue produced, runway show,” she said. “We hope the fashion show will inspire a fresh outlook for those who attend.

An eight-page spread on Bellevue Fashion Week 2009 will appear in Vogue magazine’s September issue.

“This partnership speaks to the affluence, sophistication and fashionable sensibility of our core customers,” said Jennifer Leavitt, vice president of marketing for The Bellevue Collection.

On Tuesday, Sept. 29, Lincoln Square Cinemas will feature a debut director’s screening of the new documentary “The September Issue,” which provides access to the making of Vogue.

“The movie is a behind the scenes look at the making of the Vogue September issue from two years ago,” Vincent explained. “The director, R.J. Cutler, basically lived with the editorial team and experienced first-hand what goes into the process of creating a magazine.”

Fashion Week also will include the Nordstrom Fall Fashion Show, a runway show by David Lawrence that showcases Italian designer fashions, a hair and fashion show by 7 Salon and Zebraclub, and VIP Shopping Night at The Bellevue Collection.

“I think the partnership with Vogue takes Fashion Week to a whole new level this year,” said Cheryl Engstrom for The Bellevue Collection. “The timing is perfect with the opening of the Hyatt expansion and new stores in Bellevue Square including Hugo Boss.”
