Two from Bellevue win in concerto competition

Marie M. Rossano of Bellevue was first-place winner as violinist in the recent Sammamish Symphony Orchestra’s annual Youth Concerto Competition on Saturday, February 21, at Music Works Northwest in Bellevue.

She performed Erich Korngold’s Violin Concerto in D major.

Second place went to Jula Parinaz Dabestani, also of Bellevue, who performed Franz Liszt Piano Concerto #1.

The two will perform with the Sammamish Symphony at 3 p.m. May 3 at Timberlake Christian Fellowship Church, 4505 236th Ave. NE, Redmond. Both will perform the music that earned them the top prizes.
