The Parlor to add comedy performances

The Parlor Billiards & Spirits will soon add laughter to its lineup.

Located on the third floor of Lincoln Square in downtown Bellevue, Parlor owner Steven Olson has expanded his Parlor Collection to include a new 3,000-square-foot venue catering to a comedy roster of entertainment and live music.

A packed house kicked off the New Year to a live band in the new club-style performance venue. The sold out New Year’s Eve celebration rung in the new year in style, with billiards, dancing, a card table, live music and clinking champagne glasses when the clock struck midnight.

“We’ve had such success with the billiards hall and Ultralounge, we wanted to take it one step further,” Olson said. “The response has been great. Bellevue is definitely the place to be,” he added, pointing out the crowds of people pouring into the Parlor on New Year’s Eve.

The Parlor Live will offer state-of-the-art sound for a comedy-heavy roster, live music and dueling piano performances. The venue seats 270 or accommodates a standing room crowd of 400 and includes stage lighting, 3-HD camera recording system, high definition plasma displays, and a 16-channel digital sound system.

Beginning Jan. 15, the Parlor Live will host its first open-to-the-public event with National comedy headliners Kivi Rogers from The Tonight Show and Last Comic Standing, Kenny Kane of Comics Unleashed and Frances Dilorenzo from Funniest Housewives. The show will run three consecutive nights. Tickets are $25 and can be purchase online at www.parlorcollection.com.

Parlor Live is continuing to book 2009 national and local entertainment. The Parlor Live is also available for private and company events.
