Songwriter coming to Temple B’nai Torah

Award-winning multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and music-historian Lil’ Rev will perform a free concert at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 1 as part of Temple B’nai Torah’s 2009/5769 cultural arts series.

The event is free and open to the public.

“We are excited to bring such a unique Jewish performer to Seattle,” said Rabbi Yohanna Kinberg, assistant rabbi of Temple B’nai Torah.

Rev traces the Jewish heritage of contributors to the American musical landscape. Performing on banjo, guitar, ukulele, mandolin, harmonica and recorder, Rev highlights the work of Sophie Tucker, Gus Kahn, Fanny Brice, Ted Lewis, Gus Edwards, Al Jolson, the Gershwins, Irving Berlin, Aaron Lebedoff, Joel Grey, The Weavers and more.

B’nai Torah is located at 15727 N.E. Fourth Ave. in Bellevue.
