Salvatore Ferragamo coming to Bellevue

Italian fashion brand, Salvatore Ferragamo is set to arrive in Bellevue next September when it joins the ranks of other high-end designer boutiques at The Shops at the Bravern. The retailer will join an exclusive roster of fashion names including Neiman Marcus, Jimmy Choo, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Tory Burch, and others.

The new Salvatore Ferragamo shop will mark the company’s first boutique in the Northwest.

Salvatore Ferragamo opened his first shoe shop in 1927 and rose to fame in the 1950s for its stiletto heels worn by American icon Marilyn Monroe. Ferragamo heels were worn all over the world by stars such as Audrey Hepburn, Sophia Loren and Greta Garbo. The shoe designer stayed true to his passion for quality, insisting that all the company’s products should be handmade in Italy.

Today the luxury fashion house is an internationally recognized brand and carries ready to wear clothing, handbags, leather goods and other accessories such as scarves, ties, jewelry, watches, fragrances and eyewear in more than 55 countries.

“Salvatore Ferragamo has long been at the pinnacle of Italian fashion and the European-inspired design of The Bravern offers the perfect environment for such an iconic brand,” said Tom Woodworth, senior investment director for developer Schnitzer West.

The Salvatore Ferragamo boutique will occupy 1,900 square feet in The Shops at the Bravern.

“The Shops at the Bravern will soon be one of the most important lifestyle shopping destinations in the Northwest region, and therefore an important focal point for high-end luxury goods shopping,” said Vincent Ottomanelli, President of Ferragamo USA. “The Bellevue clientele has a built-in appreciation for the qualities that define the Ferragamo House — quality, style, tradition and innovation. We know that some of our most loyal Ferragamo clients live around, or travel to, the Seattle area, making The Bravern the perfect forum for a new Ferragamo boutique.”

The Shops at the Bravern are currently under construction and are scheduled for completion in 2009.
