Magic Season returns to Bellevue this month

Magic Season, a series of holiday attractions, returns to Bellevue Nov. 25 - Jan. 8. The six weeks will include various indoor and outdoor shows, including Garden d'Lights at the Bellevue Botanical Garden, performances at Medenbayer theater and activities such as Gingerbread making at KidsQuest Museum and iceskating.

Magic Season Ice Arena Nov. 25 – Jan. 8

The ice arena, located at Bellevue Downtown Park (Northeast First Street and 102nd Avenue Northeast) presents the region’s only open-air holiday ice skating. The venue includes shelter views of the park’s waterfall.For more information call 425-453–1223. Admission is $10, which includes ice skates. People can purchase an discount admission pass in advance, which is 10 skates for $75. People who show their Bank of America debit or credit cards receive two free skate admissions on Mondays, or can pick up a free skate pass at a downtown Bellevue banking center.

 

Snowflake Lane Nov. 25 – Dec. 24

Snow falls each night as live toy soldiers and winter characters march through Bellevue Way and Northeast Eighth Street each night at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

Garden d’Lights at the Bellevue Botanical Garden Nov. 26 – Dec. 31

Garden d’Lights festival features more than half a million lights which transform the Bellevue Botanical Garden at 12001 Main St. The show is open nightly from 5-10 p.m. (last entry is at 9:30 p.m.). Admission is $5. Children 10 and under are free. Parking is free at Wilburton Hill Park. People may come free of charge on Nov. 28-30 and Dec. 5-7 and 12-14. The Theatre at Meydenbauer Center Nov. 25 – Dec. 31

The Meydenbauer, at Northeast Sixth Street and 112th Avenue Northeast, will host a series of productions, which include Bellevue Youth Theatre’s “A Christmas Carol” Nov. 25-27; Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra’s “The Magic of Mistletoe” Dec. 4; International Ballet Theatre’s “The Nutcracker” Dec. 9-11, 16-18 and 21-23; Magical Strings’ “A Celtic Yuletide” Dec. 19; Ballet Bellevue presents “The Sleeping Beauty” Dec. 28-29; and Seattle Choral Company presents “Carmina Burana” Dec. 31.

Enchanted Holidays at The Shops at the Bravern Nov. 18 – Dec. 24

 

Enchanted Holidays begins at 6 p.m., Nov. 18 with a holiday tree lighting led by Santa, pony rides and live music. For more information and additional Enchanted Holidays activities visit thebravern.com. The Bravern is located at 11111 NE Eighth Street. Photos with Santa are Wednesday-Sunday Nov. 25-Dec. 24 and every day noon-6 p.m., Dec. 14-24. Pony rides are noon-6 p.m., Nov. 26-Dec. 24. Live caroling performances are 7-8 p.m. every Friday.

KidsQuest Children’s Museum’s Gingerbread Lane Dec. 1–21
