Heart Disease awareness has taken a fashionable turn in Bellevue in the form of the Heart Truth Red Dress Collection exhibit on display now at Bellevue Square.

Sponsored by the Office on Women’s Health and the Hope Heart Institute, the exhibit honors National Health Week and seeks to bring awareness to the dangers of heart disease, currently the number one killer of women in the United States.

Cherie Skager, vice president of the Hope Heart Institute, said the goal of the display is to inspire women in the Eastside to get active, healthy and conscious of the risks of heart disease.

The exhibit, which runs through Mother’s Day weekend, consists of eight dresses being displayed in the Tacoma and Bellevue Square malls. The four dresses displayed in Bellevue are from a variety of 2011/2012 designer collections and were previously worn by celebrities including Chaka Khan, Gisele Blondet, Ann Curry and Natasha Bedingfield.
