Heathman Hotel to show Andy Warhol exhibit

The Heathman Hotel in Kirkland will host an art exhibit honoring renowned artist Andy Warhol. From mid-September through October 31, the hotel will showcase four pieces from Warhol’s endangered species collection, including Pink Elephant, Eagle, Orangutan and Tiger.

“If you want to know all about Andy Warhol, just look at the surface of my paintings and films and me, and there I am. There’s nothing behind it,” Warhol once said.

The art is on loan from the Heathman Hotel’s sister property in Portland, Ore., which has an extensive collection of Andy Warhol’s art showcased throughout the hotel and a guest suit dedicated to the artist.

Andy Warhol was chosen as the subject for the hotel’s first art exhibit to provide guests an up-close experience with some of the most identifiable art of the 20th century.

The Heathman Hotel is located at 220 Kirkland Ave.
