Ballet
Pacific Northwest Ballet’s “All Wheeldon” now until Oct. 2.
301 Mercer St., Seattle; 206-441-2424; http://www.pnb.org/
If you’re one of our many loyal readers, I’m sure you’ve figured out by now that I heart ballet. With that said, you don’t have to be obsessed with classical dance to appreciate the all-Wheeldon program, which features four pieces by the hot, young, in-demand British choreographer Christopher Wheeldon.
Galleries
Gunnar Nordstrom Gallery’s group exhibit now until Oct. 9
800 Bellevue Way NE #111, Bellevue; 425-283-0461;http://gunnarnordstrom.com/
It’s a group show, plus it includes autographed “Guitart” paintings by Dan Larsen and YADO. Proceeds from these works will go toward the construction of the life-sized Hendrix/O’Day Northwest Music Monument scheduled for placement at the Seattle Center, summer 2012. I dig the Northwest’s rock royalty autographs on these colorful and creative mixed media paintings.

Aki con runs 54 hours long and includes more than 20 different contests, a concert every night, dances, a manga library filled with over 5,000 manga, video game tournaments, larping and more. Check the schedule on the convention’s website to find the most family-friendly events, such as children’s cosplay.
Theater
Taproot Theatre’s “An Ideal Husband” now until Oct. 22.
204 N. 85th St., Seattle; 206-781-9705; http://taproottheatre.org/
Dandies and diamonds swirl in and out of this comedic classic. Sir Robert appears to be the ideal husband, until a choice from early in his career comes back to haunt him. Can he be restored to his adoring wife or will the truth be everyone’s undoing? FYI, the movie version of this with Rupert Everett is an awesome chick-flick.
