“Fine Art Moments in Portraiture,” an exhibit by Bellevue High School graduate and fine art photographer Carmen Daneshmandi, is on display at Omega Photo during April. The visually arresting and thought provoking exhibit features both portraits and a layering of images in startling combinations which she has synthesized to provoke the viewer into a thought process which goes a level beyond the obvious first glance image.

Utilizing her “lovechild mixture of photography and graphic design” via the digital photographic medium, she combines images with lines and snips of ready-made pictures to articulate ideas from the subconscious.

“I find myself placing people and photographing them in ways that lends itself to a dreamscape of sorts, playing between the open and available environment of reality and the creative construction of something more intimate,” Daneshmandi said, inviting viewers to peel back and search for something new in what is obvious.
