Seven students from the Bellevue area have won awards in the Washington State PTA Reflections Cultural Arts program.

This year’s Reflections program challenged students from kindergarten through 12th grade to create and share art inspired by the theme, “I can make a difference by…” More than 15,000 students from 442 schools created artworks in one of six media: literature, visual arts, photography, musical composition, film/video and dance/choreography.

The winners from the Bellevue area include:

Zoe Roth of RE Bennett PTA in Bellevue was selected as one of five primary division visual arts Award of Excellence winners. Roth’s entry is titled, “Loving All Creatures, Big and Small.”

Albert Chu of Odle Middle PTSA in Bellevue was selected as one of five middle/junior high division visual arts Award of Excellence winners. Chu’s entry is titled, “Donating My Love and Time to Earth.”

Talia Goesling of RE Bennett PTA in Bellevue was selected as one of five intermediate division visual arts Award of Excellence winners. Goesling’s entry is titled, “Keeping the Sea and Ocean Clean.”

Betty Hou of Somerset PTSA in Bellevue was selected as one of five primary division visual arts Award of Excellence winners. Hou’s entry is titled, “Making the World More Beautiful.

Skee Springman of Clyde Hill PTSA in Bellevue was selected as one of five primary division visual arts Award of Excellence winners. Springman’s entry is titled, “Planting Trees.”

Emmy Gockel of Sammamish High PTSA in Bellevue was selected as a senior high choreography/dance Award of Excellence winner. Gockel’s piece was untitled.

Raya Tuffaha of Bellevue Children’s Academy PTA was selected as one of four primary division choreography/dance Award of Excellence winners. Tuffaha’s dance is titled, “Working for Peace.”
