Omega Photo in downtown Bellevue is showing a photo exhibition, Visual Explorations: Abstracts by Glenn Hudson.

A Bellevue resident, Glenn’s interest in photography began when he took a class in black and white photography at Seattle Preparatory School in 1973. His interest continued when he went on to college where he became a photographer and photo editor for ”The Stanford Daily.”

It was during this time he also had the opportunity to meet Ansel Adams at his house in Carmel Highlands, California. Although his career followed a different path when his degree in engineering evolved into his current day job as a structural engineer, his interest in photography has not waivered.

In 1999 the interest in doing more serious photography re-ignited Hudson, and he began seriously studying and pursuing black and white photography doing all of this own film developing and printing in his own darkroom.

He purchased his first digital camera in 2008 and it changed his approach to photography. It opened up a whole new world working with color and abstracts, as the digital camera allowed him to slow down and spend more time to see the unseen. Now he enjoys seeing more, planning less, and finding art in places that he may have passed by previously.

Exhibit runs through April 30 from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Omega Photo is located at 1100 Bellevue Way N.E. #6.
