Bellevue Arts Museum to offer docent training

The Bellevue Arts Museum is now accepting applications for docent training program. A docent is a volunteer who is a guide, teacher, art enthusiast and a link between the public and the museum. Docents prepare and present tours to groups from schools and the community as well as the general public.

They also are available to answer questions for visitors in the galleries. The goal of the docent is to enrich viewers’ museum experiences, engage their interest and develop art appreciation.

New docents are accepted on a provisional status for a year while they participate in training featuring courses in art, craft and design as well as classes to build skills to engage audiences. Docent training is offered once a year starting in September and completing in early June.
