The Bellevue Philharmonic Orchestra will present Little Maestros Sailing the Musical Seas at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28 at the Bellevue Arts Museum, 510 Bellevue Way N.E. Tickets are $10 for all ages.

BCC drama department presents The Music Man

Bellevue Community College drama students will present the classic musical, The Music Man, in four performances March 5-7 in the college’s Carlson Theatre.

Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. on March 5, 6, and 7, with an additional matinee performance at 2:30 p.m. on March 7.

Tickets are $15 general admission, $12 for students, and are available only through Brown Paper Tickets (www.Brownpapertickets.com, or 1.800.838.3006).

Winner of multiple Tony Awards, The Music Man features fast-talking con man Harold Hill, whose attempts to fleece the good people of River City, Iowa, are challenged by the cynical but compassionate librarian, Marion Paroo, with whom Hill falls in love.

Carlson Theatre is located in Building E on the south courtyard of BCC’s main campus (3000 Landerholm Circle S.E., Bellevue, at the intersection of S.E. 28th St. and 148th Ave. S.E.).

Journalist Lisa Ling will present “Open Heart, Open Mind” at Benaroya Hall, Feb. 22 – 23. Ling, a special correspondent for The Oprah Winfrey Show, the National Geographic Channel and CNN, covers broad human-interest stories.

Ling will speak on Sunday, Feb. 22, at 7:30 p.m. and Monday, Feb. 23, at 7:30 p.m.

Alan Brennert will read from and sign his new book, “Honolulu” at 1 p.m. Tuesday March 10 at University Book Store in Bellevue. The event is free.
