Japan to Brazil: 18th Annual Carnaval celebration

Chef John Howie off to the Super Bowl

Eastside restauranteur, Chef John Howie, will attend the 46th Super Bowl in Indianapolis next month. As part of the “Taste of the NFL” event, he will be preparing Ancho Chili Applewood Scented King Salmon on Southwestern Roasted Corn Mashed Potatoes with Sweet Chili Hollandaise and Lime Cream. “The Sound of Music” sing-along

The Theatre at Meydenbauer Center has announced it will hold this sing-along at 7 p.m., Saturday, March 24 and at 2 p.m., Sunday March 25. The theater is located at 11100 NE Sixth St., Bellevue. Taproot Theatre Hosts “Comedy as Commentary”

Taproot will host this free panel discussion exploring the history of comedy and the power of humor at 7:30 p.m., Feb. 7. Oscar party to benefit children’s foundation

The party is one of 49 events officially sanctioned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that will be held across the country on Oscar Night, Feb. 26. Proceeds will benefit the Starlight Children’s Foundation Northwest. The party will be held at The Fairmont Olympic Hotel, at 411 University St.,  Seattle. Bestselling Bellevue author’s book comes out in paperback
