The 5th Avenue Theatre revealed the line-up for it’s 2013/14 season, and it’s packed with a variety of new productions and Broadway classics.

Opening the season with brand new musical “Secondhand Lions” (Sept. 10-Oct. 6).

Next up is the Broadway tour of “Anything Goes” (Oct. 15-Nov. 3). Called “Zesty… with knockout numbers and white hot dancing,” by The New York Times, the 2011 Tony Award-winning show is packed with Cole Porter songs.

The theater will celebrate a Dickensian Christmas with Oliver! (Nov. 29-Dec. 31). A new 5th Avenue production, the show will coincide with the 50th anniversary of the first Broadway production of the classic Dickens’ tale.

The 5th begins 2014 with Monty Python’s Spamalot (Jan. 30-March 2, 2014). The Tony Award-winner for Best Musical, based on the 1975 film Monty Python and The Holy Grail, features favorite moments from the hilarious movie, including The Knights Who Say Ni and the killer rabbit.

In the spring, The 5th produces “A Room With a View” (April 8-May 4, 2014). The new musical, based on the E.M. Forster novel that inspired the “Merchant Ivory” film, is set in the same era as Downton Abbey.

Continuing their annual collaboration this season, The 5th Avenue Theatre and ACT (A Contemporary Theatre) will co-produce “Little Shop of Horrors” (April 12-June 29). Based on Roger Corman’s cult horror B-movie, the musical comedy tells the story of a nerdy florist shop worker who raises a vicious, raunchy plant that feeds on human blood.

To close the season, The 5th is bringing the Broadway tour of this year’s Tony Award winner for Best Revival – The Gershwin’s “Porgy & Bess” (June 11-29, 2014).
