What next? Bureau of Clothing

Who were those self-righteous protesters at the Knotty Bodies coffee shop? I don’t think their Puritanical views represent the views of the entire community. They don’t represent mine.

Since when is it wrong for women to look attractive and wear bikinis? How, in any way, shape, or form will society be harmed? How will their little children be irreparably damaged? I’d like to know of one study that shows kids traumatized by looking at attractive women in bathing suits. Let them name one. Just where is there proof this is detrimental?

Moreover, why should customers be harassed for patronizing a legally operating business? Don’t the customers have a right to give their business to women they find attractive? While they’re at it, maybe the protesters can help enact a law banning men from having sexual thoughts and desires. Or, how about requiring all males to engage in commerce with overweight and poorly groomed females?

Maybe we should have a Bureau of Clothing in Bellevue to set a Bellevue dress code. We could have the protesters be on an advisory board and recommend what every man, child, and woman should wear on every day of the week.

I think the best solution would be to charter an airplane and airlift the protesters to Wichita, Kan., to live with fellow intolerants, and let the coffee stand owners operate their business.
