Thanks to city for the help on environmental effort

Green thumbs up to the city of Bellevue – Parks & Community Services staff who joined volunteers from The Realtors Environmental Council (TREC) on Friday, Oct. 23 at the Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center.

Approximately 40 volunteers from Seattle KingCounty Realtors spent a half-day at this community treasure to help plant a variety of native plants and trees. Despite steady rain and muddy conditions, we surpassed our goal, with more than 850 species planted.

Park ranger Christina Brown, environmental programs coordinator with the city of Bellevue, and her colleagues supervised our efforts, providing direction and hands-on assistance, and plenty of words of encouragement. Kudos all-around.
