I have volunteered alongside Bellevue City Council candidate John Stokes for many years. His wisdom and long-term vision are matched by his common sense … and sense of humor when a light touch is needed to help disparate people find consensus on tough, complicated issues.

As I write this, my teenage son is driving from Bellevue into Seattle. I’m looking forward to the day when other teenagers can use safe and convenient light rail instead. And later this week I’m traveling to New York City, where I’ll be able to get anywhere and everywhere by subway.

Can’t we have just a little piece of that here? That’s why I hope you will join me in voting for John Stokes.
