Luera will be asset to school board

Ed Luera will be a great asset to the whole system as it encounters rapid demographic shifts and swelling enrollment.

An email this week from Aaron Miller, Tyee Middle School principal, announced enrollment is up by 124 students this year, “significantly beyond our projections,” prompting the addition of staffing. I applaud the district’s prompt response, but wonder at the gross inaccuracy in planning.

Are district budgeters provided with the necessary tools, are they adequately helped to get it right? In the private sector, forecasting well is mission-critical.

In his day job at Clise Properties, Ed Luera is a real expert in this area. His addition to the Bellevue School Board will be a great asset to the whole system as it encounters rapid demographic shifts and swelling enrollment. It’s rare to attract someone of his caliber and accomplishment to run for this tough volunteer position. Please join me in voting for him.
