To combat the opioid epidemic, we will need several approaches. The Bellevue Reporter’s recent article “Seeking Incite” (by Nicole Jennings, Feb. 16) does a fine job of examining the option of safe, supervised consumption sites, such as those in Vancouver, Canada.
These sites reduce opioid deaths and also offer other medical services as well as encouragement to enter rehab. Let’s not ban safe injection sites out of hand but continue to study and to consider them as one of the ways to combat opioid addiction.
