Humor in letter

I found humor in Larry Brickman’s recent letter with a combination of two Internet lists (“Conundrums and observations”). The first list claims (without evidence or details) that half our population is subsidized but feels they are victims of government neglect. The second list then ironically complains that the recipients Social Security and veteran’s benefits, two of the largest such subsidizes, are victims of government neglect. I suppose that is one way to prove a point.
