Bike lanes on 116th a crazy idea

The City of Bellevue is contemplating bike lanes on 116th Avenue Northeast. This is a crazy idea. The street is very congested and busy, particularly between Northeast Eighth and Northeast 12th.

Traffic to and from Overlake Hospital, let alone the multitudes of other business in that area, would be severely and negatively impacted by a bike lane. The city is suggesting eliminating the center turn lane to accommodate the bike lanes. The center turn lane is critical for ingress and egress. I own two medical office buildings on 116th. Years ago we paid into an LID to widen 116th to accommodate the center turn lane and other improvements on 116th. This idea to add a bike lane taking away a turn lane is extremely counter productive.
