I am writing to let Walter Backstrom know that I am in complete agreement with his recent column dealing with baseball. The views that he expressed are right on with my own thinking with regard to the importance of baseball in our lives and the lessons that can be gleaned from playing and understanding baseball.

Baseball truly mirrors life more than the other sports. Failure in baseball, as in life, is much more common than success. His last paragraph perfectly sums things up: More no’s than yes’s; both are needed for productive/positive growth; and no excuses.
