Another bailout?

Mexico is putting retaliatory tariffs on fruit produced in Washington state.

The probable effects are: less fruit will be exported, prices will drop, farmers will make less money, our country’s balance of trade will worsen, workers (likely Mexican immigrants) will be laid off.

My first thought was that some of those workers would return to Mexico; then I remembered who’s in charge of the printing presses and setting policy in Washington, D.C., these days.

Oops, here comes another bailout and/or welfare program.
